
Pastors Robert and aminga Maxie
Lead Pastors
Pastor Robert Maxie was born in Baton Rouge and graduated from Capitol High School. He completed nine deployments including three in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He attended the University of Maryland College as well as Grace Bible College and later graduated from The Naval School of Health Sciences with a certification in Substance Abuse Counseling. He then went on to complete internships in both Italy and Chicago. He’s served all over the world from Germany, to Korea and his last command, The Naval Health Clinic New England where he served as the Navy’s Substance Abuse Continuing Care Coordinator for northern New England.
After returning home he joined the Baton Rouge Traumatic Loss Outreach Team with the goal to help give grieving families emotional first aid. He is a member of the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans Association (DAV), an organization of veterans helping veterans. Being a disabled veteran himself, it was important to continue to find ways to serve when he arrived home. He is a Certified Clinical Supervisor with over ten years of experience training counselors in the field of Substance Abuse.
Pastor Maxie is the former Director and founder of Crossroads Recovery Ministry and served on pastoral staff as a Christian Counselor at Heartsease Family Life Church, currently Encounter Church.
He and Aminga married in 1999, and have 6 great kids together and three beautiful grandchildren. His calling in life is in helping others through the hardest times of their life. It was through this calling that Liberty Church was born.
Pastor Aminga Maxie was born in Brooklyn, New York. She served 10 years in the United States Navy and retired in 1999. She’s lived with her family in the Baton Rouge area since 2012.
Pastor Aminga and her husband have led the charge against substance abuse in the Baton Rouge area and surrounding communities, providing Christian Counseling, Treatment and a place where those suffering can find healing and deliverance through the power of the Holy Spirit. In 2018, Pastors Robert and Aminga planted Liberty Church in the heart of Mid-City Baton Rouge. A Recovery Church that has seen extraordinary growth in its short existence. Pastor Aminga’s desire, is to challenge and equip God’s people to their full capacity while building God’s kingdom.

Pastor Elizabeth Soileau
Associate Pastor / Creative Director / Board Member
Pastor Elizabeth Soileau was born in Baton Rouge, La and grew up in the small town of Pride, La. She graduated from Northeast High School in 2003 and went on to obtain her Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Certification. She currently works at her family’s automotive shop as an office manager and service writer. She obtained a certification as Lay counsellor and in October 2020 was ordained Associate Pastor of Liberty Church BR.
After years of struggling with drug abuse and self-harm, in September 2013, she was set free through the Healing Power of God’s Love. In 2014 she began serving with the youth ministry at Encounter Church, formerly Heartsease Family Life Church. In 2016 she began to lead the teen support group for Crossroads Recovery Ministry, becoming a safe place for teenagers struggling with life controlling issues. It was there, under the direction of Pastor Robert Maxie, she found her passion for preaching the Word of God.
In the summer of 2018 Elizabeth, alongside Pastors Robert and Aminga Maxie began Liberty Church. She began serving as the church’s Media Director and Audio/Visual Tech Leader and is currently serving as Liberty Church Board Member, Associate Pastor and Creative Director.
In November 2020, Elizabeth married Daniel Soileau. They currently live in Baton Rouge, La with their daughters and are expecting the latest addition Summer 2022.

Minister Ivana Rhodes
Pastoral Assistant / Worship Team
Minister Ivana Rhodes was born in Dallas, Texas and moved to Denham Springs, Louisiana in 2016 just a few weeks before being married.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce and will be graduating in 2020 with a Master’s of Science degree in Leadership Development from Louisiana State University.
She is the mother of two children and was licensed as a minister in 2019.
Ivana is a survivor of emotional, physical, mental and sexual abuse. She is a fully delivered drug addict/dealer and has been restored into her calling by the love and grace of Jesus Christ. She began Ministry at Cross Bend Christian Church in Plano, Texas (now named Reclamation Church) leading a Young Adults ministry from 2014-2016 and has also served as a worship leader since the beginning of her salvation at both Cross Bend Church and Liberty Church of Baton Rouge.
Minister Ivana believes in empowering disciples of Christ to stand firm in the midst of spiritual warfare and to rely solely on the power of Jesus Christ during life’s storms.
